Antistatic is a research and communications consultancy based in Oakland California and Wellington New Zealand. We work with clients and collaborators in government, nonprofits, academia, and business to investigate and communicate about complex and vital contemporary issues. We focus on areas where complex systems intersect with the lives and wellbeing of people, with a concentration on digital technology and the environment.

In addition to our work with clients and partners, we produce our own creative projects and research initiatives that explore technology, culture, and the material world. In 2022 we edited a book on digital technology, maintenance, and ethics. Since 2018 we have maintained a weekly blog in the form of a Google slide deck. We contribute essays to a broad range of outlets on topics from responsible AI to plywood to Silicon Valley fashion.
